Francis “Mickey” Traynor, age 86 of Spring Valley, Wisconsin died Friday, December 8, 2017 at Valley Villas Assisted Living.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 11, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Spring Valley.

Family and friends may gather from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church prior to the service.

Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Spring Valley.

Mickey was born November 3, 1931 to George and Belle (McCardle) Traynor. For 80 years Mickey lived in the same home he was born in, prior to moving to Spring Valley Villas.  He was baptized in the Catholic faith and remained an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

As a youth, Mickey worked at the McCardle farm as well as giving tours of Crystal Cave. In high school, Mickey excelled in basketball and track, taking Spring Valley to the state track tournament. He remained an avid sports fan for Spring Valley, the Packers, Brewers and Badgers.

After graduation, Mickey worked as a supervisor for Sweeny Brothers and Timme Construction until retirement and then worked as the caretaker of Scared Heart Cemetery.  He treasured the peace and quiet of the cemetery, caring for those who had gone before him.

Mickey was very proud of his Irish heritage, enjoying much fun throughout his life.

Survivors include cousins Dan (Kitty) McCardle, Judy Ballard, Garda (Howard) Madsen, Dean Traynor, along with lifelong friends Jack and Barbra Mattison and their family, special friends Brother Michael Mandernach, Sr. Karen Freund , Jane and Dick Seifert , and many  beautiful neighbors and friends.

The funeral will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Spring Valley at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, December 11th with Father Prince officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to mass. Interment will follow at the cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Adam and Mark Mattison, Lloyd Larrieu, Mike Lansing, Pat McCardle and Dick Seifert. Honorary pallbearers are Dennis Dobson and Dan McCardle.
