Mary Baker

Mary Baker, age 80, of Wilson, Wisconsin died Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at home in Cady Township.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Assembly of God Church, Wilson, Wisconsin.

Mary Monk Baker passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the age of 80 following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband Leslie Baker, second husband Raymond Wynveen, and her sister Eva Borwig.  Mary is survived by her son Raymond (Cindy) Baker of Wilson, WI, sister Grace (Bernard) Designer of White Lake, WI, sister Alice (John) Vesley of Two Rivers, WI, brother Percy (Joan) Monk of Bryant, WI, and brother John Monk of Bryant, WI.  Mary has three grandchildren; Jonathan, Jennifer, and Jessica and two great-grandchildren; Jonathan and Jacob.

Mary was born on April 8th, 1937 in Kent, WI to Percy Cecil and Martha Arrowood Monk.  She graduated from Antigo High School in 1954 then studied elementary education and received her BA degree from the University of Wisconsin and her MA from the University of Minnesota. Over her 32 year career in education Mary taught at several schools in Minnesota, Florida, and in Blackpool, England.  Mary was an active member of her church and Gideons International.  She enjoyed playing the piano and accordion, traveling, and gardening.

A private funeral service will be held at Fort Snelling Cemetery, MN, as Mary requested.  A memorial service for Mary open to her friends and family will be held at Calvary Assembly of God Church in Wilson, WI on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 10:30 a.m.
