Susan Melius, age 74, of Spring Valley, Wisconsin died Sunday, February 24, 2019 at her home in Spring Lake Township.
Susan was born January 13, 1945 to Harry and Sylvia (Kulasiewicz) Dudeck in Bloomer, Wisconsin. She grew up and attended school in Bloomer and graduated from Bloomer High School in 1963.
After high school, Susan attended beauty school in Eau Claire. She moved to the Twin Cities and worked several office jobs before going to work for Cornelius Manufacturing in Anoka. She married Leland Melius on November 16, 1996 in Stillwater, Minnesota. Susan and Lee moved to rural Wisconsin and built a home in Spring Lake Township. She loved the outdoors and the wildlife, especially the deer and the birds. She took in and cared for numerous dogs and cats and loved working in her garden and growing and caring for her flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband Leland; daughters Lisa (Jeff) Jones, Ham Lake, MN, and Erin Ross; son Patrick (Sarah) Ross, Holdingford, MN; 5 grandchildren: Mary and Morgan Jones; Eden and Norah Ross; and Riley Ball; 2 brothers: David (Ginny) Dudeck, Solon Springs, WI, and Louie (Mary) Dudeck, Lowell, MI; stepsons: Joe Melius, Mpls; and David (Debi) Melius, VA; 14 step grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 10-12 on Saturday, March 9, with a prayer service at 12 noon. All are invited to the Spring Valley Community Center for a meal following the service.
