Amanda Cheney-Franzen, age 28, of Ellsworth, formerly Spring Valley died Monday, January 1, 2018 at United Hospital in St Paul from complications of liver failure.

Family and friends may gather from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, January 7, at Gilman Lutheran Church, Spring Valley.  There will be no other services.

Amanda passed away peacefully, surrounded by so much love, at United Hospital, on Sunday, January 1, 2018, after a short and sudden illness.  She will be greatly missed by more people than she could have ever imagined.

Amanda was born September 13, 1989 to Troy and Deb (Cheney) Franzen in St. Paul.  She attended Spring Valley High School, graduating with the Class of 2008.

Amanda grew up in Cottage Grove, MN. She loved camping and hanging out with her friends, but loved spending most of her time next door at our neighbors, Skaron and Papa's.  Amanda's other favorite place to be was up north at grandma and grandpa's lake home, where she love to swim, fish, tube, ice skate, sled, and ride the 4-wheeler.  When she was 12, we moved to Spring Valley, WI.  She played several sports while in school and spent most of her time with her close friends.  After graduation she moved to Ellsworth to be with Jeremy.  She loved late night cruising on back roads, board games with friends, watching scary movies, snowmobiling, riding motorcycles with Jeremy and hanging out at Mark and Robins on summer days.  Most of all, Amanda will be remembered as a wonderful, spunky and fiery redhead.
