Charles 'Chuck' Christenson

Charles “Chuck” Christenson, age 83, of Baldwin, Wisconsin died Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Birch Haven Assisted Living in Baldwin.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 19, 2018 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, Baldwin.  Funeral service will follow at 1:30 at Peace.

Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Baldwin.

Charles Walter Christenson (Chuck) was born February 12, 1935, to Walter and Cora (Julson) Christenson in Gilman Township, Pierce County, Wisconsin.  He was baptized, confirmed and a long-time member of Peace Lutheran Church in Baldwin.  He attended Baldwin schools, graduating with the class of 1953.

After high school, Chuck attended UW-River Falls and earned a degree in Land Conservation.  Following that he entered the U.S. Army and served for almost two years.  On November 18, 1961, Chuck married Roselind Jean McClellan.  In the early 1970’s they moved to the family farm in Baldwin, where they lived for many years while Chuck worked for St. Croix County.

Chuck was a dedicated man in everything he did whether it be his family, his work, his farming, or the volunteer jobs he did.  He put great effort and thought into all of them.

In his middle years when he wasn’t at home, you could always find him throwing a bowling ball in Baldwin or dancing a good polka in Ellsworth.  As the years passed, he continued to get a visit in at either the Brownwood or Ray’s Truck Stop, where the coffee never ran out.

In between a good play or musical, he thoroughly enjoyed all local sporting events, earning the Blackhawk Appreciation Award.

From his younger years of card parties with cousins to the lunch time UNO games with co-workers to the very last week of a good game of Pokeeno with his friends at Birch Haven, he had joy and joking entertainment.

Even through his battles with Parkinson’s and skin cancer, he remained patient, gentle, and uncomplaining.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his wife Jean of Baldwin, son Kurt of Baldwin; daughter Heidi of Wilson; grandchildren Aaron, Maverick, Brooklynn, Alexandra, Sydney, and Olivia; and many other relatives and friends.
