Jeannette Reid

Jeannette Reid, age 98, of Bayport, Minnesota, formerly of Spring Valley, Wisconsin died Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Croixdale Assisted Living in Bayport.

Jeannette was born November 19, 1920 to Oscar and Laura (Nauman) Jacobson in Glenwood City, Wisconsin.  Jeannette attended Glenwood City Schools, graduating with the Class of 1938.

On July 20, 1940, Jeannette married Warren ‘Wayne’ Reid in Cresco, Iowa.  They lived in Spring Valley Wisconsin and owned and operated Reid’s Valley Hatchery.  She was a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Jeannette enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, knitting, card games, and MahJongg.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Wayne, sister Margaret (McCall), Edith (Campion), Dorothy (McCall), Barbara (Gabrielson), brothers Carl, John, Duane, and Bill.  She is survived by her three sons, Mike (Judy) of Shoreview, Minnesota; Bob (Dianne) of Stillwater, Minnesota; Don (Jane) of Neenah, Wisconsin; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; sister Nancy Bjornson of Menomonie, Wisconsin and many other relatives.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Spring Valley, Wisconsin on April 26th with Rev. Bob Bipes and Rev. Annie Ladnier officiating.  Visitation will be at 11:00 a.m., service at 12:00 noon with graveside service and lunch to follow.  Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Spring Valley, Wisconsin.
