Kevin Winger

Kevin Winger, age 63, of Ellsworth, Wisconsin died unexpectedly January 8, 2020 at his home in Ellsworth.

Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, January 12, at English Lutheran Church, Ellsworth and one hour prior to the service at church Monday.

Memorial service will be Monday, January 13, 2020 at 11 a.m. at English Lutheran Church.

Burial will be in Our Savior’s Lutheran Cemetery, Beldenville.

 Kevin was born on September 11,1956 to Harold & Barbara (Klingensmith) Winger in Red Wing, MN. He graduated from Ellsworth High School with the class of 1974.  On February 19, 1977 he was united in marriage to Lynette Place. Their marriage was blessed with 4 children, Joshua, Curtis, Alyssa & Kayla and 42 years of love and devotion.

Family meant everything to Kevin. Nothing gave him more joy than watching his grandchildren grow and teaching them so many fun things along the way.

Kevin was an avid outdoorsman and it would have been hard to find him at a time where he was not out hunting, fishing or exploring the countryside.  He always had a love of the northwoods and their cabin was one of his favorite places to share with his family and friends.

He was a proud employee of Melgard Monument Company in River Falls, where he worked for 43 years.  

Kevin will remain in the hearts of his beloved family, wife Lynette, daughters Alyssa (Adam) Matzek and Kayla (Jordan) Zimmer, grandchildren; Claire, Kensie, Jack & Louie; siblings Larry (Sue) Winger, Lon Winger, Lori Oberg, brothers and sisters-in law; Barry (Marilyn) Place, Bruce (Lanette) Place, Greg (Sara) Place, Rick (Lily) Place and Cheryl (Doug) Risty.  He is also survived by many other loving relatives & countless friends who will miss him dearly.

Kevin is preceded in death by his parents, Harold & Barbara, parents in-law Pernell & Marion Place, sons Joshua & Curtis, brother and sister-in law Ronald & Karen Knutson, nephew Dennis Knutson and other family and friends that were special to him.
