Leta Powell

Leta Powell, age 79, of Spring Valley, Wisconsin died Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater, Minnesota.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 18 from 4-7 p.m. at Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley.

A prayer service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Knapp, Wi at a later date.

Leta was born June 19, 1939 to Norman and Marjorie (McCulloch) Moore in Weston Township, Dunn County, Wisconsin.  She grew up and attended school at Spring Valley.  On September 21, 1957 Leta married Virgil Powell.  Together they raised 5 sons, Jeff, Greg, Rodney “Ron”, Brian, and Dan.

Leta worked at Duffy’s Cleaners, Mark Anderson Industries, managed the Spring Valley Cenex Store, and did house cleaning for a few of years.  She loved her boys and all her grandchildren and faithfully followed them through all their school and sports activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Norman Jr, Calvin, and John Moore; and sister Corrine Victoria.

Survivors include her sons: Jeff (Deanna) of Spring Valley; Greg (Kathy) of Birchwood, WI; Rodney (Sandy) of Spring Valley; Brian of Spring Valley; and Dan (Kristine) of Coon Rapids, MN; 8 grandchildren: Jason, Brooke, Masen, James, Sydney, Adam, Jacob and Calli Mae; 1 great grandson Brantley; brother Orin (Linda) Moore of Spring Valley; sister Barbara Sackman of Terry, Montana;

Leta’s grandchildren were honorary bearers.
