Lois Elaine (Stangeland) Davis passed peacefully in her sleep from complications of COPD, surrounded by her family on Thursday, September 14, 2017.

Lois was born in Murdock, Minnesota and moved to Illinois as a child.  She graduated from Dixon High in 1953.  Lois moved to St Paul, Minnesota the day after graduation and started working at Hartford Insurance Company as a clerk.  During her 43 years with Hartford, she worked her way up to Senior Claims Supervisor.  In 1959 she married Bob Davis.  Her daughter Jenene was born in 1960 and her son Jeff in 1968.

Lois and her family owned and operated the Wilson Nite Club from 1972 until 1980.  They then settled in Woodville. Lois retired from Hartford Insurance in 1996 and truly enjoyed an active and fulfilling retirement, taking her grandson on several trips and becoming very active in her community.  She served the Woodville Lions Club and was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellow for humanitarian services.  Other organizations she served include the American Legion Auxiliary, the Woodville Village Board, and Park View Board of Directors.

Lois loved to play cards, belonging to two card clubs, and also enjoyed reading.  She read thousands of books and donated hundreds of books to the Woodville Library.

She is preceded in death by her parents Lucille (Wiechman) and Chester Stangeland; aunt Lucille Wiechman; husband Bob Davis; uncles Herb and Bill Wiechman; brother Bob Stangeland; sister-in-law Diana Stangeland; and son-in-law Rus Lehman.

She is survived by her brother Richard Strangeland, Dixon, Illinois; her daughter Jenene Lehman and her son A.J. (Danica) Bonnie, of Menomonie, Wisconsin; son Jeff Davis, his wife Elizabeth, and their daughter Ashley, Baldwin, Wisconsin; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Lois loved her family and friends and will be deeply missed by many.
