Patricia Vasquez Obituary

Patricia Sue Vasquez, age 79, of Spring Valley, Wisconsin died Wednesday, July 10th, 2019 at Our Lady of Peace, St Paul, MN.

Gathering of family and friends for Patricia will be on Sunday, July 14, 2019 from 1-3 p.m. at Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley WI.  Her daughter Suzanne would like to invite everyone to her home in Cottage Grove, MN for food and visiting following the visitation.

Patricia was born March 31, 1940 to Wilcott and Minnie Coolidge in Sherburn, MN, along with her brothers Claude and Max and sisters Maxine and Josephine.  Patricia graduated from Naperville High School in 1958.  Her family then resided for many years in Downers Grove, Illinois.

Patricia began her 43-year railroad career in Chicago, IL working for the CB&Q right out of high school. In 1970, she moved to St. Paul, MN working for the now Burlington Northern Santa Fe, in the claim department. Her work as the Freight Claim Manager allowed her to travel all over the United States.

While helping at a friend’s restaurant in Lakeville MN, Patricia met her soon to be husband Frank Vasquez in 1975 and they were married after a quick courtship on March 26, 1976.  Frank quickly got his new bride up to speed with all his hobbies such as hunting, fishing, horses and cattle.

They settled in Spring Valley, Wisconsin in 1978 on a 75-acre farm, where Frank continued his hobbies of cattle, horses and leather and Patricia worked her day job at the BNSF and came home to her farm chores.  In 1979, they welcomed their only daughter Suzanne (Tooie).

Patricia enjoyed accompanying Frank and Suzanne to horse shows and sporting events, she enjoyed gardening, walking outside and was a great cook and listener to everyone that came to visit. Her greatest enjoyment was having her 3 grandchildren stay over and attending every one of their school and sporting events.

Preceding her in death were her husband Frank; parents Wilcott and Minnie Coolidge, sister Maxine Coolidge, brother-in-law Ed Smith and sister-in-law Emily Coolidge.

She is survived by her daughter Suzanne (Jack) Kennedy and grandchildren Jordan, Jesse and Jacqui. Her brothers Claude, Max (Jean) Coolidge and sister Josephine Smith. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A special appreciation to her niece Sandy Esparza for all her time, care and love during the last several months.
