Virgil Lueth, age 81 of Spring Valley, died Monday, June 24, 2019 at his home in Martell Township.
Gathering of family and friends will be on Saturday, June 29, 2019 from 9-11 a.m. at St John’s Lutheran Church, Spring Valley.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. at the church with a luncheon to follow. Virgil C. Lueth, age 81, of Spring Valley passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019.
Virgil was born to Fielder and Rose (Kristek) Lueth in Curtiss, Wisconsin. He graduated from Abbotsford High School in 1955, and received a B.S. and M.S. Degree in Education from UW-Eau Claire. Virgil joined the Wisconsin National Guard and was called to active duty during the Cuban Missile Crisis at Ft. Lewis, WA. He was honorably discharged in 1966.
Virgil met Beverly Beard at teacher’s college and they were married July 19, 1958 at St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, at Curtiss, Wisconsin. Virgil taught elementary education a total of 37 years, the majority in the Spring Valley School District. Virgil enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking in his retirement.
Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, sister Greta, and brothers Elmer and Albert.
Virgil is survived by his wife Beverly, sons Virgil (Lisa) of Polvadera, N.M. and Bryan (Mary) of North Branch, MN; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; brother Arnold (Lynn); and sisters Rosella (Gene) Jensen and Deanna (Mike) Fanning, sister-in-law Gladys Lueth; many other relatives and friends.
Military honors will be performed by Rickerd-Danielson American Legion Post 227.
