William Huey, age 89, of Spring Valley died Sunday, August 27, 2017 at the Spring Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center.

FUNERAL service for Bill will be Thursday, August 31 at 11 a.m. at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel at Spooner, Wisconsin.

VISITATION will be on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley.

Burial in Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Spooner.

 

Bill was born September 18, 1927 to Duncan and Elizabeth (Bates) Huey in Dunn Township, Dunn County, Wisconsin.  He was married to Elinore Smith on August 15, 1953 at the Methodist Church in Elmwood, Wi.  They were blessed with 3 children: Betty, Rick, and Lisa. 

Bill married Shirley Bird of Boyceville, Wi. the summer of 1992.

Bill worked as a truck driver for Summit Cheese for over 35 years. He also worked for Wilson Stone Quarry for several years after returning home from his service in Korea. Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, going to the casino, collecting coins, and mowing his lawn

Preceding him in death were his parents: Thomas Huey (Brother) and Florence Van (Sister)

He is survived by his children:  Betty Huey of Eau Claire; Rick Huey of Barron; and Lisa (Don) Seyller of Woodville; 3 grandchildren: Joe (Amanda) Witter of Woodville; Brandon (Nicole) Witter of Baldwin; and Nicolas Huey of Hudson; 1 great grandson Brayden Witter; nieces: Sherri Van Martinek of Chippewa Falls; Mary Stewart of California; Nephew: Allen (Butch) Van of Eau Claire; great niece: Jamie Gadson Jennings of California; other relatives and friends.
