Allen H. Kuesel (71) of Spring Valley, WI passed away on October 5th, 2021
in the home he grew up in.  Allen was born on September 11th, 1950 to Herman
and Violet Kuesel in Durand, WI.  He was a hard working farmer all his life
and had a passion for Belgian Draft Horses, which he showed proudly at many
fairs over the years.  In 1970 he married Kathy Schultz and went on to have
five girls – Patti, Susie, Melissa, Emily, and Becky.  Eventually he was
blessed with five grandchildren – Brett and Whitney, Logan and Teagan, and
Wyatt, and one great-granddaughter, Avery, all who loved their “Papa”
dearly.  He was a member of St. John’s and St. Matthew’s churches over the
years, serving as President of both churches.  The church was important to
him, so much so that he played a big part in getting the church, St. John’s
of Hatchville, WI back on its feet after a period of time it which it wasn’t
open for worship.  Over time Allen was unfortunately unable to keep up with
the needs of his farm, as he suffered a stroke.  His family, especially
son-in-law Nathan, took on the duties to keep his farm going, while his
sister Ruthie and family friend Machelle stepped up to help take care of his
medical needs.  His daughters chipped in to help many days after work and on
the weekends, so that he could spend his remaining years in the comfort of
his home.  He was a stubborn man and didn’t let his medical issues interfere
with the love of his family and farm.  He will be greatly missed by many
family and friends.

Allen is survived by his daughters: Patti Meyer, Susie Kuesel, Melissa
(Patrick) Milune, Emily (Nathan) Link, Becky (John) Schwake, grandchildren:
Brett and Whitney Meyer, Logan and Teagan Milune, and Wyatt Link, and
great-grandaughter Avery, his sister Ruthie (Bill) Hayden, along with many
cousins, family, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Violet, and previous wife
Kathy.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, October 8th, 2021 at St.
John’s in Hatchville, WI with Pastor David Irgens officiating.  Visitation
will be held two hours prior to the service at the church.
