Brad Hughes

Brad Hughes, age 63, of Spring Valley, Wisconsin died Monday, June 29, 2020 at Baldwin Care Center in Baldwin, Wisconsin.

A graveside service will be Sunday, July 5, 2020 at 1 p.m. at St John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Spring Valley.  Please bring a chair.

Brad was born April 12, 1957 to John Thomas and Ada (Brooke) Hughes at Menomonie, Wisconsin. He was baptized and confirmed at St John’s Lutheran Church, Spring Valley.  Brad attended Spring Valley Schools and graduated with the Class of 1975.

Brad loved fishing and woodworking.  He worked at Norlake for a number of years, farmed, mowed for the Village of Spring Valley, and was a volunteer member of the Spring Valley Fire Department since 1987.  He loved playing cards and spending time with his nieces and nephews. Brad was the faithful caretaker of his mother Ada for many years.  He and Ada shared many Saturday mornings going out for breakfast with Jack and Gloria Weghorn, followed by a leisurely country drive.

Preceding him in death were his father Tom; brother Craig, and brother-in-law Tom Beyer.

He is survived by his mother Ada Hughes; sister Ann Beyer; niece Tonya (Craig) Maier and nephew Twain (Tanya) Beyer all of Spring Valley; 5 great nieces and nephews: Zach Maier, Madison Maier; Charlie Maier; Pride Beyer; and Kalena Beyer; other relatives and friends.
