Charles Christensen Obituary

Charles Christensen, age 84, of Baldwin, Wisconsin died Saturday, February 27, 2021 at his home in Baldwin.

Public visitation will be on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 11-1 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Spring Valley.

A private family service will follow visitation at church.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, River Falls, Wisconsin.

Charles was born June 20, 1936 at River Falls, Wisconsin to Charles Sr and Stella (Swenson) Christensen.  He grew up in the River Falls Area, attended River Falls Schools and graduated with the Class of 1955.

After school, Charles went out on his own working at various farms in the area. He also hauled milk, worked construction, and eventually went to work at Erickson Industries, now known as Kolpak, at River Falls.  On May 23, 1970 he married Marie at the Martell Methodist Church in Martell Township.

They lived in Martell until 1986 when they built a home one mile north of the Gilman Church.  They returned to Martell in 2000, before moving to Baldwin.

He enjoyed woodworking and was an excellent ‘Mr. Fix-It’, working on lawn mowers, and spending as much time as possible at his cabin.

Preceding him in death were  his parents; siblings; one son; and 3 grandsons.

Survivors include his wife Marie (Eads) Christensen; children Sandy (Dean) Zimmer; Nancy (Bob) Kinsman; Terry (Wanda) Blaedorn; Debbie Wodarczyk; Barry (Nikole) Christensen; 30 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.

Public visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Spring Valley.  A private family service will follow.  Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, River Falls.

Honorary bearers are his grandsons: Josh Koskie, Jake Koskie, Josiah Koskie, Jason Koskie, Michael Zimmer, Paul Zimmer, Zach Awsumb, Ignatius Awsumb, Nic Kinsman and Brady Kinsman.

Pallbearers are grandsons Aaron Zimmer, Tyler Blaedorn, Jeremy Koskie, Ryan Christensen, Telly Awsumb, and Jon Koskie.
