Connie Crownhart, age 84, of Spring Valley, Wisconsin, died at her home in Valley Villas on Saturday, December 17, 2022.
A Celebration of Life will be Thursday, December 22, 2022, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Spring Valley.
Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Spring Valley.
Connie Crownhart, age 84, of Spring Valley, Wisconsin died Saturday, December 17, 2022, at her home in Valley Villas in Spring Valley.
Connie was born June 20, 1938 to John and Mabel (Leonard) Crownhart in Eau Galle Township, Dunn County, Wisconsin. She was baptized and confirmed at United Methodist Church in Elmwood and has been a long time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Spring Valley.
Connie grew up and attended school at Elmwood, graduating with the Class of 1956. She continued her education at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in education in 1963. Connie had worked at North Western Bell Telephone Company in Minneapolis and the First State Bank in Elmwood. After receiving her degree, she taught elementary school in Plum City and in Spring Valley. She has lived in Spring Valley since 1977.
Connie enjoyed singing and was a member of the Combined Lutheran Choir and sang with the Spring Valley Community Choir. She was a member of the Wisconsin Education Association Council and the National Education Association.
Preceding her in death were her parents; sisters Lois Bueling and Vivian Rodewald; and brothers Max and Bernard Crownhart.
Survivors include her sons: Scott (Becky) Mathiesen and Tim Mathiesen; grandchildren: Tyler Mathiesen, Tanner Mathiesen, and Kyle Meyer; and niece Linda Wilson; other relatives and friends.
Memorials given to the family in honor of Connie will be matched by the family. The memorials will be used towards a scholarship and given to a Spring Valley graduating Senior that is going on to school majoring in Education.
