Dawn Bernard, age 50, of Spring Valley died Monday, August 10, 2020 at United Hospital in St Paul, Minnesota.
Memorial mass will be on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spring Valley.
Family and friends may gather from 10-11 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
Following the service, you are invited to Handy Andy Park in Spring Valley to further Celebrate Dawn’s life. If you wish, please bring food or beverage.

Dawn was born December 30, 1969 to Alfred and Lois (Shingledecker) Lovejoy in Hastings, Minnesota. She grew up and attended school in Rosemount, graduating from Rosemount High School in 1988. Following high school, Dawn lived in Ellsworth, Wisconsin. She attended Southeast Technical College in Red Wing and then Inver Hills Community College where she studied for LPN/RN.
Dawn worked in Martin Luther Manor Nursing Home in Bloomington for a couple of years and then worked at Vasa Children's Home in Red Wing for about 10 years. She made lasting relationships with coworkers and those she took care of always.
Dawn met her future husband, Dan Bernard, online in 2002 and got to know each other through writing and talking on the phone for a year. They met in person and quickly realized they were meant for each other. They were married on July 7th, 2004 in New Jersey and lived there for a couple of years, moved to Burnsville, MN for a short while, finally making their home in Spring Valley, Wisconsin.
Dawn had a big heart and loved helping and serving others. She loved her pets, especially her dogs Daisy and Titan. Dawn worked hard at her job with United Healthcare, becoming a Senior Business Analyst, and again making lasting relationships with coworkers. She and Dan loved camping and traveling with their travel trailer having visited Mount Rushmore, and loved traveling to St. Germain, WI. She and Dan also loved to take road trips traveling out East to visit Dan's family.
She was preceded in death by Her parents Lois A. Lovejoy and Alfred W. Lovejoy; father-in-law Albert W. Bernard; sisters-in-law Laura M. Bernard and Jacqueline A. Bernard.
She is survived by Her husband Dan of Spring Valley; 2 brothers: Paul Lovejoy of Spring Valley; Thomas Lovejoy of Canton, Minnesota; uncle Paul Shingledecker of Plum City, Wisconsin; mother-in-law Sheila Bernard; and brother-in law George Bernard.
