Don Iverson

Don Iverson, age 96, of Woodville, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Western Wisconsin Health, Baldwin, Wisconsin.

Funeral service is on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Woodville.  Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. at church prior to the service.

Burial is in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Woodville. 

Don Howard Iverson was born on his grandparent’s farm 2 miles east of Woodville, Wisconsin on August 6, 1929. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran in Woodville.

He attended Denver school (south of Woodville) for 2 years, then attended Woodville schools as his father started the Iverson Lumber Company. On October 6, 1948, he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Helgeson. To this union 3 sons were born: Gregg, Scott, and Todd.

He worked as a carpenter, cabinet maker, salesman, and later managed the Iverson Lumber Company. In 1963 he started the Ideal Door Company with a friend (Del Freeman). Here they manufactured residential and commercial garage doors selling to lumber yards, installing distributors, and wholesale companies. After selling out the business in 1977 he retired. He remained living on the farm 2 miles east of Woodville until his death.

Don and Mary Ann enjoyed traveling! They put many miles on their motorcycle with numerous friends and family. Later in life, Arizona and Texas were winter destinations, forming lasting friendships with those they met.

Don had a passion for hunting and fishing. Deer hunting on Madeline Island was a tradition for over 50 years that included his dad, sons, and grandsons. He looked forward to fishing trips to Canada and local fishing holes.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann; parents: Walter and Alice; an infant brother; sons: Gregg and Scott (and his wife Joan).

He is survived by his son Todd (Carolyn) Iverson; daughter-in-law Linda Stang; 5 grandchildren: Jodi (Deb) Owan, Tammy Iverson, Scott Iverson, Jason (Amy) Iverson, and Wade Iverson; 7 great grandchildren: Kayla, Ashley and Brianna, Jordyn and Brenna, Avery and Brecken; 4 great great grandchildren: Brody, Paisley and Benjamin, and Nolan; brother David (Barb) Iverson; sister-in-law Janis Helgeson; many other relatives and friends.
