Dorothy Froeschle Obituary

Dorothy Froeschle, age 97, of Exeland died Monday, October 25, 2021 at Care and Rehab Cumberland.

Funeral service will be on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Wilson, Wisconsin.

Visitation will on Saturday, October 30 from 10-11 a.m. at church prior to the service.

Burial will be in Lone Pine Cemetery, Woodville, Wisconsin.

Dorothy Marie Froeschle, “Dort” (Hillstead), age 97, formerly of Wilson, WI peacefully passed away Monday, October 25, 2021 In Cumberland, WI at Cumberland Care and Rehab. As she passed, Dorothy was comforted to be in the presence of her loving family. Dorothy was born April 2, 1924 in Woodville WI. She was one of 13 brothers and sisters. She grew up on the family farm in rural Woodville. Dorothy was a graduate of Woodville High School in 1941. Dorothy had plans to attend college, but her plans soon changed after the announcement of a new world war. She encompassed the spirit of “Rosie the Riveter,” and welded parts for B-29 bombers in Detroit, Michigan. Dorothy married the love of her life, a local milkman, Lyle Froeschle on February 21, 1946. Lyle and Dorothy had three children together, whom they were very proud of. The couple built a life they loved, and lived in unity for 61 years. Dorothy was also a homemaker, who cared for everyone around her. Dorothy was an active member of the Wilson Ladies Auxiliary for over 50 years. She also faithfully attended Christ the King Lutheran Church of Wilson for many years. Dorothy loved the Lord with all of her heart and we rejoice in her homecoming. Dorothy’s talents were numerous, she was an extremely creative woodworker, painter, seamstress,and crocheter. Her hobbies included coloring, baking, reading Christian novels, admiring the beauty of flowers, and spending time with the people she loved. Dorothy is survived by her three children, Steven (Gay) Froeschle, Barbara (Gary) Zimmermann, and Brenda (Thomas) Granica. Her 8 grandchildren, Shawn Froeschle, Chad (Alison) Froeschle, Nate (Jody) Froeschle, Rheanna (Brenton) Hogan, Clinton Holin, Carly Holin, Hailie Granica, and Alexandra Granica. Her 8 great grandchildren, Steven Froeschle, Ayden Froeschle, Annie Froeschle, Reese Froeschle, Owen Froeschle, Lillian Hogan, Vivian Hogan, and Emmeline Hogan. She is survived by her brother-in-law James (Suzie) Froeschle and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy is preceded in death by her beloved husband Lyle Froeschle and parents Albert and Thea Hillstead. She is preceded by her brothers, Edmund Hillstead, Clarence Hillstead, Alden Hillstead, Otto Hillstead, Robert Hillstead, Albert Hillstead, Theodore Hillstead, Harold Hillstead and Walter Hillstead. She is also preceded by her sisters, Alice Iverson, Althea Hatsel, and Mildred Bryant. Dorothy will be missed by all who were lucky enough to be a part of her extraordinarily beautiful story.
