Duane Brorson Obituary

Duane Brorson, age 63, died Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Comforts of Home in Hudson.

Visitation for Duane will be on Thursday, May 4, 2023 from 4-7 p.m. at Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley, and at church on Friday for one  hour prior to the service.

Funeral service will be on Friday, May 5, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Gilman Lutheran Church, Spring Valley

Burial will be in the Gilman Lutheran Cemetery, Spring Valley.

Duane Brorson passed away on April 30, 2023, at the age of 63. He was surrounded by the love and support of his children, Ben (Jenell) and Pam (Tim), along with his wife, Elaine. Duane was born on May 15, 1959, in Menomonie WI, raised by his parents, Arnold and Dorothy Brorson in Spring Valley, WI. He graduated from Spring Valley High School with the class of 1977. After school he had several odd jobs, along with volunteering with the Spring Valley Fire Department for over 15 years and being First Responder. He held several different positions with the fire department, working his way up to Assistant Chief. Along with his volunteer work, he worked at Purina in Hager City for 12 years. He left Purina when he was hired by the Bank of Spring Valley. He enjoyed his career with the Bank of Spring Valley. He always felt he quit working once he started at the Bank of Spring Valley and Plum City branch. Duane had many fond memories while at the Bank of Spring Valley and was grateful to Ralph Gavic and Don Gavic. Duane enjoyed spending time with family and friends, golfing, brewing beer, and traveling. He enjoyed it when his kids and grandkids stopped by. He never complained when his grandchildren would stay overnight, he could wake them up in the morning and snuggle, after they would watch their favorite cartoons.  

Duane is survived by his wife, Elaine (Hague), his children Benjamin (Jenell) of Glenwood City, WI and Pamela (Timothy) Gartmann of Baldwin, WI. His grandchildren Trevan (Mariah) and Leighton Cornell, Ava Dubak, Kaydence and Brayden Brorson, Gage Dubak, Emelynn, Henry and Amelia Gartmann. Great grandchildren Nixon, Kaisen, Luka, Asher, AdaLynne and Hayden Cornell.  His 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Dawn (Steven) Wood of Elmwood, WI and Deanna (Jeff) Powell of Spring Valley, WI. His brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim (Zona) Hague, Randy (Debbie) Hague, Jeannie (Lowell) Mandelkow, Suzie (Dennis) Whirry, Sandy (Kathy) Shultz-Ertz, Cindy (Mike) Richardson, Denise (Wayne) Hague-Hays, Kathy (Tadd Fredrickson) Hague. Many other relatives, aunts, an uncle and many nieces and nephews.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Arnold and Dorothy Brorson and in-laws Russell and Delores Hague, along with his brothers-in-law, Rick Hague and Eric Marx.

Pallbearers: Jason Wood, Jacob Wood, Corey Norby, Brandon Clements, Russell Hague, Stoney Clements.

Honorary bearers: Kaydence and Brayden Brorson; Emelynn, Henry, and Amelia Gartmann; Trevan Cornell and Leighton Cornell; Ava and Gage Dubak; Nixon, Kaisen, Luka, Asher, AdaLynne and Hayden Cornell
