Elinore Wood

Elinore Wood, age 87, of Woodville, died Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Park View Home in Woodville.

Visitation for Elinore will be on Friday, December 17, 2021 from noon until 2 p.m. at Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley.

A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Poplar Hill Cemetery, Rock Elm, Wisconsin.

   Elinore was born November 12, 1934 to Herman Alfred and Enid Hazel (Loomis) Smith in Elmwood, Wisconsin. She grew up and attended school at Elmwood and graduated from Elmwood High School with the Class of 1953.

    Elinore married William Huey in 1953. They were blessed with three children:  Betty, Rick and Lisa.

    On November 12, 1988  Elinore married Orville Wood.  They have lived in Spring Valley since their marriage. Elinore worked for over 25 years as Head Cook at the Spring Valley Nursing Home. Elinore continued her education at Eau Claire Vo-Tech to become a dietician. Elinore enjoyed her job as she brought so much joy to the residents and healthcare workers through her tasty entrees and baked goods.

    Elinore was also known as a master seamstress, sewing beautiful dresses for the local ladies of the area. Needle point and an acrylic painting was also a favorite pastime.                    Preceding her in death were her parents; first husband William; son Rick; brothers, Donovan, Willard, and Elroy Smith.

She is survived by her husband Orville; daughters Betty and Lisa (Don) Seyller; 3 grandchildren: Joe (Paige) Witter, Brandon (Nicole) Witter, and Nicolas Huey; 1 great grandson Brayden Witter; Stepdaughter, Kimberly Witt (Jason), Stepson Tony Wood; sisters: Donna Lark and Ardelle (Martin) Mcalpine; brother Gordy (Brenda) Smith; sisters-in-law: Charlotte Smith and Ardith Smith, Lois and Eileen Wood; brother-in-law Winton (Judy) Wood. Many other step grandchildren and great step grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
