Elsie Arneson Obituary

Elsie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, March 25, 2022.
She was born to William and Alma Steiger on June 18, 1925 in Greenwood, Wisconsin. After graduating high school, as part of the war effort, she helped assemble and build aircraft avionics. After the war she attended Miss Wood’s School, an innovative teacher’s college in Minneapolis and then went on to teach kindergarten in Spring Valley.    There she met and married Ary Arneson, the love of the her life. Together they raised four children: Charlie, Sally, Jay and Sarah instilling in them a love for nature and a curiosity about the world. Later, she finished her teaching degree at the University of Wisconsin River Falls and continued to teach reading classes in the Spring Valley school system for many years.

Elsie was always positive and enjoyed every minute of her extraordinary life, but was never happier than when she was with her family at the lake or the farm.
Elsie’s legacy is her loved ones who were inspired and nurtured by her:  Charlie and Barbara, Sally and Steve, Jay and Wendy, Sarah and Tom; her grandchildren Anna, Tim, Paige and Claire; her nephew and niece Bill and Mary.
A small family service is planned. Memorials preferred to Seniors Staying Put, Spring Valley, Wisconsin
