Eric Marx, 49 of Hammond, Wisconsin died Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at home after a battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).
A gathering of family and friends will take place from 2-5 p.m., Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Big Guys BBQ Road House, 1237 WI-35, North Hudson with a Celebration of Life service at 2:30 p.m. A buffet luncheon will follow.
On June 16, 2020, Eric Marx, loving husband and father passed away and was taken by the Lord at the age of 49 after his battle against ALS.
Eric was born and baptized Catholic on December 17, 1970 in St. Paul, Minnesota to his mother Rita, and late father Clair Marx. He was the youngest of 4 children. Since the age of 18, Eric had dedicated his life to public service as a volunteer firefighter, medic, and correctional officer. Following 18+ years of service with Ramsey County, Eric became disabled after being injured and then later being diagnosed with ALS.
Eric leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife Kathy, his daughters; Jessica and Kaitlyn, stepdaughter Jessica (Shjon), and stepson Ryan; mother Rita, sisters Rose (Mike), Sandi (Richie) and brother Steve (Tina) and so many loved in-laws: Jim (Zona), Randy (Debbie) Jeannie (Lowell), Suzie (Dennis), Sandy (Kathy), Cindy (Mike), Denise (Wayne), and Elaine (Duane). Eric also leaves numerous nieces and nephews, along with a host of very dear family and friends.
Eric will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, from the time in the garden and working in the yard, to camping, hunting, fishing and many bonfires during the summer months. He also enjoyed working with his hands, creating items from old wood and pallets along with other items. Eric was always willing to help those in need and had a love for good tequila and time with friends.
