Evelyn Wallesverd, age 90, of Wilson, Wisconsin, died Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Woodville, Wisconsin.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at church prior to the service.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Woodville.
Evelyn was born April 15, 1933 to Arnt and Alma (Eggen) Nelson in Springfield Township, St. Croix County, Wisconsin. She attended Hersey grade school and Woodville High School graduating with the Class of 1951. In June of 1954 she married John Wallesverd. This union was blessed with 3 sons: John Jr., Steven and Mark. She was a stay at home mom until the boys were in school and then worked at several office positions. She owned and operated a fabric store in Hartford, Wisconsin and enjoyed the experience. She later worked at Ideal Door in Baldwin for 20 years.
Her hobbies were sewing, knitting, gardening, cooking, baking, dancing, but mostly bowling. Evelyn enjoyed life and tried to not take the trip too seriously. Evelyn was the youngest of 12 children and truly enjoyed sharing time with them over the years. She also taught Sunday School and was active in her church. She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 301, serving as president for approximately 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, Jack; her oldest son John Jr.; and all of her siblings.
Those she leaves to remember her are her sons: Steven (Linda); Mark; her granddaughter Kirsten; grandson John; great grandsons: Jack and Will; very special nieces and nephews; other family and friends.
