Gary Larson, age 75, of Woodville, Wisconsin, died Thursday, August 10, 2023 at United Hospital in St. Paul.
Memorial service will on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Historic Woodside Place, Baldwin, Wisconsin.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Historic Woodside Place prior to the service.
Burial will be in Brookville Cemetery, Eau Galle, Township, Wisconsin.
Luncheon will follow the service.
Gary was born April 6, 1948, to Maynard and Marveda (Larson) Larson at Baldwin, Wisconsin. He was baptized and confirmed at Gilman Lutheran Church, Spring Valley. He grew up on the family farm Eau Galle Township.
Gary attended Baldwin-Woodville Schools and graduated with the Class of 1967. This past spring, he was listed as one of the top 10 athletes of Baldwin-Woodville High School. Farming was his life. For many years he farmed and did custom combining. He also worked for the St. Croix County Highway Department from 1989 until retiring in 2010. After retirement he continued his farming and combining.
He enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, and riding his motorcycle. He was a member of Snow Valley Riders Snowmobile Club. He enjoyed 4-wheeling on his ATV. His main goal in life was to be a successful farmer. He had a successful high school career and was All-State in wrestling and played on a very successful football team. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother Jeffrey; infant sister Nancy; brother Steven Larson; sister Julie Lorentz; sister-in-law Karen Larson.
He is survived by his long time partner Diane Johnson; children: Staci (Bryan) Hanson; and Travis Larson; 3 grandchildren: Tyler, Nicole, and Alyssa Hanson; 2 great grandchildren; Evelyn Hanson and Eleanor McIntyre; Diane’s family: Dennis Johnson; Doug and Lori Johnson; Debbie and Arvid Harmon; Darla and Steve Joncas; and Dale Johnson; siblings Les Larson; Karen (Rich) Moore, and Kevin Larson; his children’s mother: Kathy Larson; many other relatives and friends.
