Jeannette Lickness, age 83, of Spring Valley, passed from this life on Monday, November 10, 2025, at her home.
The Rosary will be prayed on Sunday, November 16 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Spring Valley. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart following the Rosary.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart with a luncheon to follow at the Brother Michael Center.
Private family burial will be at a later date.
Jeannette was born February 26, 1942, to Roy and Matilda (Lightner) Frasl in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She grew up and attended school in Eau Claire, graduating from Regis High School in 1960.
Jeannette met Roy Ottinger at a diner where she was waitressing. They were married in Mason City, Iowa on September 8, 1960. They were blessed with four children: Tyrone, LaCinda, Elissa, and Denya. They lived in Vadnais Heights, Minnesota before moving in 1970 to a farm in Eau Galle Township, St. Croix County, Wisconsin. Roy died January 20, 1977 after a lengthy illness.
After Roy’s death, Jeannette and Chris Lickness met and later married on September 30, 1978 at Landfall, Minnesota. This union brought siblings Tony and Corina into the family. They lived and farmed in Eau Galle Township until moving to Spring Valley about 9 years ago.
Their love for children brought them to become foster parents for 21 years and added to their family when they adopted their son David.
Jenny enjoyed gardening and processing the fruits of that labor. Jenny enjoyed baking…She loved with food! She loved to visit with friends and take care of everyone, especially her grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Roy Ottinger; son David; and 2 sisters and their husbands: Shirley and George Flaskrud and Barb and Larry Mess.
Survivors include her husband Chris Lickness; children: Tyrone (Jeanette) Ottinger; Cindy (Bill) Schlegel; Elissa (Ted) Swanepoel; Denya (Harvey) Rutherford; Tony (Steven) Lickness-Greene; Corina Lickness; 19 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; brothers: Allen (Gene) Frasl; Loren (Murri) Frasl; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
