Judy Hurtgen, age 71, of Hudson, died Thursday evening at Comforts of Home in Hudson.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 3, at Gilman Lutheran Church.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Judy was born July 16, 1950 to Conrad and Donna (Porter) Rognholt. She grew up and attended Baldwin-Woodville Schools, graduating with the Class of 1968. After school she worked for a couple of years and on June 21, 1969 was married to Kent Hurtgen at Rush River Lutheran Church, rural River Falls. They were blessed with two daughters, Julie and Valerie.
She worked at Hurtgen Auto Clinic in Spring Valley for many years until it closed in 1992. Judy worked at Jacobson Pontiac in Baldwin and after Kent’s tragic death in 1996, she worked at Keyes in Menomonie and at Stillwater Motors. She lived in Spring Valley for most of her life, but also in Menomonie, then River Falls and most recently in Hudson.
She enjoyed sewing, camping, shopping, flower gardens, and going for walks. She loved anything hummingbirds and her cats Mork and Mindy but, most of all she loved spending time with her grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kent; and brother John.
Survivors include her daughters: Julie (Rick) Scharlau of Menomonie and Valerie (Tim) Wood of River Falls; 4 grandchildren Brandon and Justin Scharlau and Tristan and Riley Wood; sisters: Jean Bramucker of Baldwin; Nancy Zimmer of Menomonie; Cheryl (Karl) Sorenson of Spring Valley; Paula (Adrian) Dickens of Boyceville; brother Conrad James (Kathleen) Rognholt of Menomonie; brother-in-law Larry (Diane) Hurtgen of Spring Valley; sister-in-law Linda Grabrick of Baldwin; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service is on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at Gilman Lutheran Church, Spring Valley with visitation for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be in the Gilman Lutheran Church Cemetery.
