Kenneth Meehan

Kenneth Meehan, age 73, of Menomonie, died Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Health System-Red Cedar in Menomonie.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Otter Creek Christian Fellowship Church, located at N10091 Co Rd S, Wheeler, Wisconsin  54772.

Visitation will be at church for one hour prior to the service.  A luncheon will follow the service.

Kenneth James Meehan was born on September 28, 1949 to Timothy Aloysius Meehan and Betty Jean Meehan in Baltimore, Maryland.  He went to be with his Lord on Thursday, February 2, 2023.The eldest of three children, he spent his first twelve years in a typical 50’s neighborhood: Biking, camping, sledding, ice-skating with the same 25 kids.They did everything together, including attendinga Catholic school and church, where they were altar boys.

The family transferred to Northridge, California in 1961 where he enjoyed the backyard swimming pool, the beaches and the mountains. Ken graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in June 1967 with a Liberal Arts-College Mathematics Preparatory Diploma. He attended California State University Northridge (1967-1970), majoring in accounting.

During the summer of 1969, Ken met Gail, fell in love and married on March 20, 1970. As a newlywed he began his IT computer operations career, first with RCA Los Angeles, and then with Universal Studios in West Hollywood, where he rose through the ranks over the next eight years, ultimately being promoted to the lead operator.

In the summer of 1972 Ken was led to the Lord by his brother-in-law, Doug Vick, and received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was baptized on July 28, 1974.

On February 5, 1980 their son Lucas was born. Then in October 1980 they were transferred to Raleigh, NC, to set up new computer systems for SCM and New Britain Tool. Ken was in on the ground floor when the country transitioned from mainframe computers to the in-house business computers of the 80’s.

Ken, Gail, and Lucas moved to Menomonie in October 1995.

On May 1st, 2004, Ken, along with Gail and Chuck and Jeri Newton, began a home Bible study, which later grew into Otter Creek Christian Fellowship.

Ken is survived by his wife Gail, son Lucas (Cassie Nelson), grandchildren McKoy, Korbin, Ciarra, & Dravin Meehan; sister Patti Ware & husband Ron; Aunt Gloria Crossland; in-laws Pastor Doug Vick & Sharon; nieces, nephew, great nieces, and great nephews.

Ken was preceded in death by his brother Tim Meehan, his parents, and brothers in Christ, Chuck Newton and Charlie Bland.
