Kenneth Smestuen

Kenneth Smestuen, age 46, of Colfax, died Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire.

Memorial service will Monday, November 1, 2021, at 1 p.m. at Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley with visitation for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Ken was born April 16, 1975 at Eau Claire, to David and Fran (Wertz) Smestuen.  He grew up near Menomonie where he attended school.  He also attended CVTC to complete his education.  When he was just 16, Ken worked as a logger. Ken loved fall camping and his tent was still up and ready for use.  He loved animals and was known to bring all kinds of strays home, including a possum he picked up on the side of the road.  His family was most important and he was a great husband, dad, and ‘papa’.

Preceding him in death were his father, and daughter Tina Rodey.

  Survivors include his wife Cindy; mother Fran Smestuen; children: Aaron, Ayden, Anikan, and Alannah Smestuen, Alyssa Moessner, and Rose (Patrick) Freund; siblings: Kevin Smestuen, Kelly Smestuen, and Kimberly Smestuen; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
