Linda Childs

Linda Childs, age 70, of Red Wing, Minnesota, died Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Spring Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center.

A memorial service for Linda will be on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Spring Lake Lutheran Church, Spring Valley.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. at church prior to the service.

   Linda was born October 31, 1955, to Glenn and Louise (Mudrick) Morehouse in St. Paul, Minnesota.  Even though her birthday was on Halloween, she loved it! She said she got more candy than anyone for her birthday! Linda grew up and attended school in Hastings, Minnesota and received her G.E.D. in 1973.

   On July 10, 1976, Linda married James Hague Sr. They were blessed with 4 children: Tanya, James Jr, Martin, and Kari.  They lived in rural Elmwood and farmed for many years. The marriage ended after several years.

Later in life, Linda met Michael Childs Sr. They were married on July 7, 2007 (07/07/07- lucky numbers). The family grew even bigger, she got many bonus sons, daughters and grandkids! Mike and Linda lived in Welch, MN.

   Linda worked at a few factories over the years. The longest and most memorable was Larkin Industries. Prior to retirement, she was a manager at Tradewinds within Treasure Island Casino.

   You would always find Linda with a contagious smile and either with her family, fishing or playing BINGO. Linda became a snowbird and loved it. She lived on Pike Lake in Amery (where she met her new best friends – Jeff and Janeen) in a camper during the summer and wintered in Yuma, Arizona with her brother Charlie and sister-in-law Kathy. Those were the best days of her life!

   Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Michael; son James Jr. son-in-law Richard and siblings Charles Lawrence and Debora; best friend Sue.

She is survived by children: Tanya (Twain), Marty (Ashley), Kari (Shawn), Margo (Mark), Michael Jr. (Wendy), Matt (Amy), Marshal and don’t forget her fur baby Chubs; grandchildren: Pride & Kalena, Collin & Bella, Lane & Liam, grand dog: Scout, Darren, Suzzelle, Markie, Mark Jr, Michael III, Ally, Emmy, Jamie, Dylan, Chase, Caleb, Shelby; siblings: George (Dianne), Jan (John), Charlie (Kathy), Jerry, Mary, Myron (Julie) and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
