Lorice Knutson, age 89, of Beldenville, Wisconsin passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at United Hospital in St Paul, Minnesota after suffering heart failure two days before.
Funeral service for children and grandchildren will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021.
A public graveside service will be at about 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, January 23 at the Martell Lutheran Cemetery, Martell Township, Wisconsin.
Lorice Adelia Moore was born April 9, 1931 to Cyril Burtus Moore and Clara Alice (Brown) Moore at Red Wing, Minnesota. She attended Ellsworth High School and graduated with the Class of 1949.
On April 18, 1951 Lorice married Kenneth L. Knutson. They were blessed with 3 children: Daniel, Larry and Gordon. They lived on their farm in Martell Township where Lorice raised her family and took care of their home while Ken and the boys farmed. She was a longtime member of Rush River Lutheran Church where she was active in the Ladies Aid and the Harvest Dinner.
Lorice loved travelling and fulfilled one of her dreams when she travelled to Ireland with her sister and two of her grandchildren. Alaska was another favorite destination, where Lorice and Kenneth journeyed on three occasions. She also enjoyed reading, embroidery, and raising gladiolas in her garden.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kenneth; Kenneth’s brothers: Bertten, Vernon, Glenn and Arnold and their wives Grace, Helen, Doris, and Iola; brother-in-law James Reische; nephews Ronald Knutson and Donald Knutson; and grandson David Knutson.
Survivors include her sister Dorothy Reische; sons: Daniel Knutson; Larry (Karen) Knutson; and Gordon (Pam) Knutson; grandchildren: Zachary (Kathleen) Knutson, Caitlin Knutson; Christopher Knutson; and Julie Knutson; and great grandchildren: Abigail McDaniels and Levi Knutson; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are Mark Rodwell, Gary Knutson, Jerry Knutson, Kevin Knutson, Tom Knutson and Jim Knutson.
