Marlys Huisman, age 89, of Farmington, formerly of Woodville, died Monday, March 9, 2026, at Legacy of Farmington.
UPDATE: TIME CHANGE....Memorial service will be Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
Burial will be in Baldwin Cemetery, Baldwin, Wisconsin.
Marlys was born August 1, 1936, to John and Minnie (Teigen) Legge in Menomonie, Wisconsin. She grew up near Woodville and attended Woodville Schools, graduating with the Class of 1954. On June 22, 1957, Marlys married Howard Olsen. They were blessed with three children: Randy, Kathy, and Wendy. The marriage later dissolved. Marlys spent many years working as a C.N.A. at Park View Home in Woodville and the Farmington Nursing Home.
On August 3, 1985, Marlys married Thomas ‘Wayne’ Huisman at St. Paul. They moved to Farmington, Minnesota and had lived there for the past 40 years. She has lived at Legacy of Farmington for the past 6 years.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Wayne; former husband Howard Olsen; brother Earl (Agnes) Legge; and sisters: Adeline (Vern) Smith, Grace (Donald) Flick, and Jean (Oliver) Schmidt.
Survivors include her children: Randy (Laura) Olsen; Kathy (Greg) Siewelo; and Wendy (Jon) Wynveen; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
