Mike Mooney, age 43 of Spring Valley, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Western Wisconsin Health in Baldwin.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 27, 2020 from 1-3 p.m. at Handy Andy Park in Spring Valley to share stories and lunch. Please bring a chair.
Mike was born October 5, 1976 to Douglas and Gail (Zoya) Mooney in Chicago, Illinois. He grew up in North St. Paul and graduated from North High in 1995. After high school Mike attended Century College and received an Associate Degree in Photography and Videography. He lived in the Twin Cities before moving to Spring Valley 12 years ago. He worked as in the Title Industry for about 20 years.
On August 26, 2000 Mike married Leah Steichen in Cottage Grove, Minnesota. They were blessed with two children, Muirann and Townes. His greatest love was his family and he was an amazing father. He also enjoyed spending time with friends and neighbors.
Mike had a serious passion for music. He was a bit of a tech geek and enjoyed building computers to do special games. He enjoyed hockey and watching the Brewer’s baseball games. He was also known for cooking a great meal. Mike was passionate about human rights.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Survivors include his wife Leah; children daughter Muirann and son Townes; his mother Gail Zoya and father Douglas Mooney; brother Patrick (Jackie) Mooney; parents-in-law: Dale and Joanne Jacobson; sisters-in-law Holly (Joe) Lee and Sarah (Laiken) Warrick; many other relatives and friends.
