Mitzi Peterson

Mitzi Peterson, age 58, of Menomonie, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health System-LaCrosse. She was the biological daughter of James Arthur Peterson, who proceeded her in death, and Sandra Ann Delamater Peterson. She was raised as a daughter by her fraternal aunt’s family, Wayne and Marilyn Supri, who proceeded her in death. She had four older siblings: Scott, who proceeded her in death, Larry, Brenda, and Sue. She also had many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, and special cousins, Jill and Lynda.

She miraculously survived a near-fatal car accident in 1978. Mitzi graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1985. She retained her memory until the end of her life even though she had mobility issues. As a child, she enjoyed living in the country, 4H, riding horses, and raising rabbits. She loved animals and had dreamt of being a veterinarian. She was very talented in drawing. She had many cats and dogs over the years. She will have many beloved pets greeting her across the rainbow bridge. She will be greatly missed. Special thanks to her group home Sky Investment in Menomonie, WI, who took care of her for many years.

Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery, rural Spring Valley in the spring of 2026.
