Rochelle Painter, age 78, of Spring Valley, Wisconsin died unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at United Hospital in St Paul, Minnesota.
A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Wilson Lutheran Church, Wilson, Wisconsin. A luncheon will follow the service.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. at church prior to the service.
Burial will be in Juneau City Cemetery at Juneau, Wisconsin.
Rochelle was born October 2, 1941 to Lester and Bernice (Knutson) Jensen on the family farm in Cady Township, St Croix County, Wisconsin. She grew up in Wilson and attended Cady Lane Elementary School. Rochelle attended Spring Valley High School, graduating with the class of 1959. She furthered her education at UW-River Falls earning a Bachelors Degree with a major in education in 1963.
On June 14, 1969 Rochelle married John Painter at Zion Lutheran Church in Woodville, Wisconsin. Rochelle taught school for about five years in Amery, Wisconsin and one year in Bloomington, Minnesota before taking a position at Juneau Elementary School in Juneau, Wisconsin. She retired after 28 years in Juneau.
Rochelle was active with the Jaycees and Jaycettes in Juneau, Wisconsin in which she held offices at the state level.
John (husband) passed away in 1997. Rochelle decided to move to Valley Villas in Spring Valley in March 2011 due to her health.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband John; and brothers-in-law Gene Anderson and Jim Painter.
She is survived by her brother Byron (Ann) Jensen of Minnetonka, MN; sisters Diane (Grant) Ness of Wilson, WI and Jill Anderson of Spring Valley; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
