Rodney (“Rod”) Allan Lange, age 66 of Elmwood, Wisconsin, died Saturday, April 23, 2022, at the Mayo Clinic in Menomonie, Wisconsin.
A Celebration of Life service for Rod will be Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Elmwood United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. at church prior to the service. A luncheon will follow the service. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
Rod was born July 10,1955 to Alvin and Norma (Helland) Lange in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. He grew up in Menomonie and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1974.
Rod was married to Joanne Hill on July 3, 1993, at the United Methodist Church in Menomonie. He worked many years as a welder/fitter supervisor for Empire Bucket in Hudson, Wisconsin.
Rod was a handyman and could fix almost anything. Anyone that knew him, knew he had the biggest and most generous heart. He took great pleasure in helping neighbors, friends, and family by plowing snow, mowing lawns, mechanic work, and many other tasks. He adored being called “Papa” by his grandchildren who were the most important to him. He was an active participant at his church, Elmwood United Methodist, through the church functions such as spaghetti feeds and harvest dinners.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin & Norma Lange of Cornell. Survivors include his wife Joanne; his three sons: Larry (Jeanne) Lange of Boyceville; Leonard (Christina) Lange with children, Easton and Berkley, of Boyceville; and, Nathan (Rebecca) Lange of Chippewa Falls; his three daughters: Angel Ertle with daughter, Olivia, of Hammond; Melody Loar with daughters, Norah and Kassie, of Elmwood; and, his youngest daughter, Karlee Lange of Elmwood; siblings: Robert (Karen) Lange of Sun Prairie; Roger (Marie) Lange of Menomonie; and Ruth (Kim) Weltzin of Chippewa Falls; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, family and friends.
