Roselind Jean Alice (McClellan) Christenson was born May 12, 1941, to Arley and Anita (Gamma) McClellan. Jean was baptized, confirmed, and spent the rest of her life as a devoted Christian. She attended Spring Valley schools, graduating with the class of 1960.
After high School, Jean worked multiple jobs, including childcare while her children were young. When the kids went to school, Jean spent the remainder of her working years caring and loving residents at multiple care centers. She had also worked at the Spring Valley Theatre when it was still showing movies. On November 18, 1961, Jean married Charles Walter Christenson (Chuck). Jean and Chuck moved to Chuck’s family farm. This is where Jean and Chuck lived and raised their two children.
Jean spent her life caring for and making others laugh. If you ever needed a pick me up or a good chuckle, Jean was your person. She was always ready to crack a joke, give you a pinch, or just do something silly. Jeanie, as most of her friends called her, was a great dancer and loved to sing along with different polkas or Elvis songs. Throughout the years, she loved to collect little Knick knacks and show them off to others over a good cup of coffee or some sweet ice cream. Jean and Chuck loved to visit the Brownwood or Ray’s Truck Stop, where dinner was hot and so was the coffee.
Jean loved sitting around large tables with friends and family close by playing games and laughing together. Whether it was playing bingo, Pokeno, or singing along with Sunday morning Hymns, Jean loved being in the company of others and making them laugh. She was an excellent seamstress and raised chickens and ducks and did canning.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Chuck; and sister Mila Schiefelbein.
Survivors include her son Kurt of Baldwin; daughter Heidi (Scott Glampe) Dumond of Wilson; grandchildren: Aaron, Maverick, and Brooklyn Christenson and Alexandra, Sydney, and Olivia Dumond; brother Jerry McClellan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
