Thomas William Sandve

 Thomas William Sandve, 19, died accidentally May 28 in Moscow, Russia. 

 A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 from 4-6 p.m. at St John’s Lutheran Church, Spring Valley with a service to follow at 6 p.m.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.

 Thomas was born March 13, 1999 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, to Bill Sandve and Rakhima Khodzhayeva. He attended school there until 2007, when his family returned permanently to Spring Valley, his father’s hometown. He was a member of the Spring Valley High School Class of 2017 and had worked at Spring Valley Drug. 

At the time of his death, Thomas was studying in a preparatory program at Moscow State University. 

He was both inquisitive and introspective. Thomas had a gentle sense of humor; he was kind and affectionate. He was a talented potter, a reader and a runner, with interests including oceanography and all things scientific. He enjoyed trips with his grandparents and family and, in recent years, visits to New Orleans and Washington, DC. 

He will be missed greatly by his parents, Bill and Rakhima; his sister and good friend, Renata; many other relatives and friends. 

 He was preceded in death by his grandparents Glenn and Helen Sandve and Ibidullah and Roza Khodzhayeva. 

 The family expresses gratitude to those who have provided assistance and support during this difficult time.
