Vivian Danielson Obituary

Vivian Danielson, age 96, of Menomonie, Wisconsin, formerly Spring Valley, died Sunday, August 18, 2019 at her home in Menomonie.

There will be a private family Celebration of Life.

Burial at St John’s Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.

Vivian was born October 3, 1922 in Abilene, Texas to David Berman and Dorothy Fulfur.  She attended school in Arp, Texas, where she lived with her Aunt Millie and Uncle Jack. She graduated in 1940.  After high school Vivian moved back to Mineral Wells, Texas to be close to family.

In 1944, Vivian met Dale Danielson at Camp Wolters when he returned from service in the U.S. Army during WWII.  They were married on June 5, 1945 in Breckenridge, Texas.  After Dale was discharged from the army they moved to Spring Valley, WI.  Once back in Wisconsin, Dale worked as a traveling salesman and eventually purchased Oak-Dale Hardwood Products.  Vivian was a stay at home mom to her three children, Gary, Shelley and Lisa.  In 1967 tragedy struck when their son Gary was killed in a car accident.  Her faith and love for family was strengthened from that point on.  When Dale passed away in 1994, she moved to Menomonie, WI.  For the past several years she has been living with her daughter Shelley and son-in-law Dean, in Menomonie.

Vivian enjoyed playing bridge and cards with friends and being a part of the Spring Valley community.  She loved hosting holidays, watching the Packers, attending grandchildren’s activities and especially loved spending time with them.  Vivian felt that time spent with family, was time well spent.

She was proud of her grandchildren and those who knew her, knew all about her four special gifts from God. As the great-grandchildren arrived they too became the apple of her eye.  Her ten great grandchildren lovingly knew her as GG.

Vivian was a kind and generous person who touched many lives. She will be loved and missed forever.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David Berman and Dorothy McCray; stepfather, Jim McCray; husband, Dale; son, Gary; son-in-law, Dean Aamodt; sisters, Ethel (Evelyn) Lockett, Correne McKinney; aunt, Millie (Jack) Fleischman; uncle, Orvin Mattison; and brothers-in-laws, Earl and James Danielson.
